Hawks Post First Win
The Eden Valley Hawks big bats which had been so silent on Sunday came to life on Monday when the Hawks played a make-up game at St. Nicholas as the Hawks scored their first win of the season 9-4. The Hawks who had but three hits in a loss to St. Augusta on Sunday came up with 12 hits on Monday. Ken Kirkpatrick, the winning pitcher also helped his own effort with four hits for five trips to the plate. Doug Hamilton had three for four. This Sunday Eden Valley will travel to Luxemburg while Pearl Lake will play at St. Nicholas; Kimball at Watkins and Rockville at St. Augusta. Other games played on Monday found Watkins upsetting heretofore undefeated Pearl Lake, 3-0; Rockville defeated Luxemburg 11-9; and St. Augusta defeated Kimball 8-2.
