Hawks Lose 3-2 in 11 Innings

The Eden Valley Hawks were involved in another pitching contest last Sunday and came out on the short end 3-2 in 11 innings with Kimball. Eden Valley hurler, Bob Theis allowed but six hits, while the winning pitcher, Erickson was tabbed for eight. Both pitchers went the full 11 innings.

The Hawks scored one run in the first inning, one in the eighth.

Kimball scored two in the first inning and didn’t score again until the bottom of the 11^th.

Eden Valley committed three errors while Kimball had only two miscues.

Theis struck out 16 while Erickson for Kimball had 17 strikeouts. The game was well played through out and there are indications that this type of ball will be played throughout the season.

Sunday the Hawks will face Rockville here in what should be another fine contest. A Shakespeare rod and reel will be awarded at the end of the contest.

Manager Al Jensen has called another practice for Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm at the local diamond. All team members who can possibly make it are asked to be in attendance at that time.
