Four-Run Inning Bolsters Clippers Past Hawks

Despite pulling out to a lead with a run in the first inning, the Hawks were unable to hold the lead as the Clippers scored four times in the second inning on their way to a 7-4 victory.  Eric Malvin added a two-run homerun for the Clippers (3-0 in CVL).  Mike Beier started the game on the mound and Bruce Geislinger relieved him in the eighth for the Clippers, while Al Faber went the distance for the Hawks.  The Hawks rallied in the ninth as Junior Geislinger had a two-run double, but that rally only amounted to the two runs as the game finished 7-4.

This week, the Hawks will host the Litchfield Blues on Wednesday at 7:30.  They will then travel to St. Augusta Saturday to face the Gussies at 2:00.
