Hawks Thump Nicks 10-1 in Tournament Play

The Hawks entered the game having not scored more than five runs in a league game since June 12^th. Fortunately, they played the team they did that day: St. Nicholas. The Hawks exploded for ten runs on thirteen hits to eliminate the Nicks from the playoffs and survive to play Wednesday evening at 7:30.

Chuck Geislinger led the hitting barrage with three hits, including a two-run double in the fourth. He also had a run scoring single in the Hawks’ four-run second inning. Dan Berg, Joby McCann, and Rob Ruhland all provided two hits, with Berg scoring three of the Hawks’ runs.

Dustin Schoenecker got the win on the mound for Eden Valley. Matthew Pennertz and Dan Hansen provided four innings of scoreless relief, giving up a combined two hits and striking out five over those innings.
