Schoenecker Goes Nine as Hawks Down Nicks 11-3

For the second game in a row, the Hawks had a pitcher throw a complete game as Dustin Schoenecker went the distance in the Hawks’ second league win in as many days.

The game didn’t start out well for the Hawks, as they quickly fell behind 2-0 as the Nicks scored in each of the first two innings.  However, in the third and fourth innings, the Hawks sent 9 men to the plate in each inning and scored a combined eight runs on ten hits, knocking starter Jim Willenbring from the game.

Both teams were held scoreless until the eighth inning, when St. Nick cut into the Hawk lead by plating a lone run.  The Hawks responded by scoring three more of their own to secure the 11-3 win.
