Pennertz No-Hits Lux!

Birdie Geislinger has been involved with baseball for quite a long time.  But Tuesday evening he was part of something he had never been a part of before: a no-hitter.  Matthew Pennertz pitched his first no-hitter ever as the Hawks beat the Luxemburg Brewers by a score of 4-0.  He struck out eight and walked two over the nine innings.

Eden Valley scored first in the top of the second after three hits, a walk, and a Luxemburg error.  They scored again in the fifth on two hits, a walk, and another error.  They took a four-to-zero lead in the ninth inning when Dan Berg bunted Joe Thiel and Dustin Schoenecker to second and third and Chuck Geislinger drove them both in with a single.  There were no extra-base hits in the game.  Chuck Geislinger led the offensive attack with three hits, three RBI’s, and two stolen bases.
